Valerie Comeaux, PhD
Valerie Meiners Comeaux is a curriculum specialist, writer, theatre instructor, and researcher. Valerie's writing has appeared in LSU's Daily Reveille, New Orleans' The Times Picayune, Baton Rouge's The Advocate, and Baton Rouge Parents Magazine. She has served on the editorial review board for Texas A & M's Educational Research and Innovations, published in 2012, and she has contributed pieces as a guest writer for the New York City beauty and fashion blog, Ciao Beautiful as well as for BuzzFeed. Valerie's latest academic publication, "Being More: The Philosophical Intersection of Maxine Greene and Tupac Shakur" is forthcoming in the "Journal of Curriculum Dimensions." Valerie was recently invited to speak by MSNBC's Melissa Harris-Perry at the Race, Gender, and Hip-Hop Conference held at Tulane University in New Orleans this past December.
